July Fog - Potd

July Fog Fog Slinks in, Cloaks dawn’s smile In July gloom With platinum gauze ~ A foggy summer breath Glistens on rows of sweet corn, Kisses the vegetable garden, As crickets chirp and bumblebees hum In misty tunes of foghorn rhapsodies.

Well dang, I see this was a POTD. It is gorgeous and I would have given it a second place except line 9 had ten syllables!! Just remove ,"the" in front of bumblebees and it will be perfection. Congrats on my contest, Sam.

It seems to me the Etheree format has an intrinsic elegant quality about it as the syllables expand over the lines - like fog rolling in! Hi John! Thank you so much R&R Bro! So far we have a had a cold, windy, foggy summer - June AND July gloom listening to the foghorns at night! Have spent many a summer morning this summer watching this curiosity called fog roll over the hills and through the skies! Fog is, just as you say "mysterious" and "mystical" It just seemed to call for a poem that highlighted these qualities - qualities in life that you so well understand!
