Joy

Joy is there in a babe’s cherubic smile Joy is when like a child, heart is without guile Joy is there in the sparkling morning light Joy is when mind is freed of all blight Joy is there in the spectrum of rainbow hues Joy is born when love and kindness fuse Joy is seen in the ripples of rushing rills Joy comes down like breeze riding down the hills I sense joy when I hear the robin sings I feel joy when a bird takes off on wings I dance in joy when I see flowers greeting me I bathe in their loveliness and my sorrows flee Remember, joy is at the edge of every grief Don’t worry even when standing at sorrow’s cliff Joy may once flow through every nerve as a tingle As your spirit and God’s spirit one day shall mingle Plant seeds of love in the fecund soil of your heart Water them every day as from their husks, they sprout Tend them with great care till they are in full bloom Harvest joy in time, driving away all trace of gloom July.27. 2022 ~ Placed Second~ Joy Poetry Contest Sponsor- Regina McIntosh

Eloquently phrased poetry. Plant seeds of love in the fecund soil of your heart. Gives hope to sorrow, and light to the dark. Best of luck in the contest! ~Anaya

Joy surely abounds but is tragically hidden from those lost in clouds too low dense and persistent. So well written. Robert

Reads like a good contender in Regina's contest to me. Way to go. Life has so much to offer us each day to bring us an uplift in our inner spirit, if only, we watch, wait, feel and listen. I enjoyed reading this one. Thanks for the kind review of my work. Sara
