It Was An Angels Voice

at times, I get an odd sensation that I am not alone out of the corner of my eye, a shadow stirs once, I felt a hand stroking my raven hair as mother used to do . . . I like to think mother is my very own angel watching over my earthly journey as I wept one day I heard a gentle voice so soothing and comforting to my soul words only mothers know how to use . . . I recall being sick and oh, so afraid there was a hand holding mine, I felt it it took the hurt away I no longer feared the end so I left this earthly realm we call earth and wandered in the dim afterlife . . . but a voice whispered to me, "it is not time" it was an angels voice . . . and so I returned to this earth again to finish my journey with a new inner strength still when I am doubtful and unsure an angel guides my way . . . _______________________ June 21, 2013 Poetry/Free Verse/it was an angels voice Copyright Protected, ID 06-487-563-21 All Rights Reserved, 2013, Constance La France
