Into The Black Hole Sun - A Cosmic Ballad of Love, Loss and Illusion, Music Video

This piece was sparked by an idea in a fellow poet Tom Woody’s’ — “Last Dance Amid the Stars.” I however, followed a very different emotional path — one that avoids finality and leaves room for mystery and one’s own imagination. The story also touches on the true stories of a growing trend with tragic consequences — lives lost in the pursuit of that one perfect selfie in scenic spots. This dangerous craze has already claimed lives. It’s a heartfelt reminder for us all to stay grounded — in every sense of the word. Lyrics
Into The Black Hole Sun - A Cosmic Ballad of Love, Loss and Illusion Phone in my left hand, a metal hook in my right A Grand Canyon dream dust in the night "Just one more selfie," her voice still remains now she’s lying below, and I’m drowning in blame Oh, the wind the wind it whispers her name echoes of laughter, lost in the game We were dancing on Neptune, chasing the stars riding Saturn’s rings like a cosmic guitar skipping past Earth, straight to Venus we’d fly Why'd her wings disappear as she fell from the sky? Now I ride the Milky Way, lost in the haze coasting astral winds through Jupiter’s maze Had a talk with a rover ‘bout faith and decay But it don’t really matter she’s too far away This void, this void keeps calling me back with lures of a one-way ticket, that’s a fact We were dancing on Neptune, chasing the stars riding Saturn’s rings like a cosmic guitar skipping past Earth, straight to Venus we’d fly What made her lose her wings when she fell from the sky? One last swig, one last thought One last look at what I’ve lost Slowly I fall lost in the haze into the dark where shadows blaze Black hole sun, light up the sky Spinning into stardust, Where memories lie Gravity fades, no more pain Just an endless reunion Just an endless reunion In space

Dear Anaya, its certainly a sad state of affairs. Obsessions for that perfect shot and all caution gets thrown to the winds. This one was inspired by Tommy's Haibun, as I mentioned above. Thanks so much my friend ,so glad you liked it...Hugs

Loved this poem of love and loss. After rising to the heavens, whizzing past stars and constellations, the fall, hitting hard and crashing on the ground is so painful. As John has commented just below me, this is a Romeo and Juliet tragedy. The love here remains as a sad and tragic testament of the power of passion and devotion, the interplay of fate and the ultimate human condition. However the poem ends on a note of hope, asserting that love thrives over all impediments. The warning about taking selfie is a timely one. It has stolen the lives of many. Sorry, I couldn't open the video. But I am sure it will be captivating as ever as the talented Maria and Ron are behind its creation.

A one way journey from planet Earth To the stars, in our galaxy the milky way, seeing the constellations of stars how awesome, might that be, but one more selfie and a foot placed wrongly on the highest mountain of all got her there, her lifeless body below her spirit and soul flying high above. A breathtaking write my friend. Hugs and blessings Jenny.

Dear Maria, Such a constellation of love, loss, and the perilous allure of chasing the perfect moment. I felt the pain of memory spinning through stardust, the gravity of grief and wonder balanced on a ledge. Your words are both elegy and warning, to marvel at the stars and oh remember the ground beneath us. A heart in the dark, where even shadows blaze. Spring Blessings, My Dear Maria, Daniel

Dear Maria, your outstanding poem "Into The Black Hole Sun - A Cosmic Ballad of Love, Loss and Illusion" explores affection, grief, and the lure of flawlessness, especially in the context of tragic consequences from pursuing brief vistas like the perfect selfie. The poem highlights the poet's struggle with guilt and sadness after losing a loved one who has fallen from grace, both materially and spiritually. The depiction of cosmic aspects conveys a feeling of awe and sadness, stressing the thinness of existence and the risks of superficial validation. The poem uses cosmic images and strong words to create beauty and anguish. Words like "cold steel," "Grand Canyon dream," and "drowning in guilt" juxtapose the universe's beauty with individual sorrow. Words like "selfie," "void," and "gravity" link modern topics to universal emotions.

Hi Maria and Ron. Just got back and today I am commenting and trying to catch up on the Soup. Let me start by saying I wish all Veterans and military people great thanks today Memorial day. Your inspiration by Tom's poem was a a great spark to lead you in the celestial direction. Your words and Lyrics complimented your message of how selfies and taking risk can cause your demise, and it has. It is a gripping video and reminder of such acts. It was a heartfelt video to say the least. Well written

as always Maria. Your lyrics I loved and your theme was what I feel correct for the video. One death was enough in my opinion.. I always want to leave hope and a positive conclusion when I can, but sometimes life isn't fair and there are no happy endings. Your ending was inspiring to see them together in the future. Maria you and Ron created a visual masterpiece. I am favoring this. Love your videos. Will comment on Tommy's video today. Thank you for sharing Maria and Ron, great effort my friends. A favorite...

Do you have any statistics on how many have perished to this? Only you would think of this as a song and create such a graphic video.. I can see how you were inspired by Tommy's words and you have done well to turn it into a song...

Excellent poetry and video. The song is tender and beautiful Maria. Glad my poem inspired you, though the ending still implies his death, if a bit more ambiguously. Your work keeps getting better and better. Soupmail
