I meant to post this poem around New Year's Eve 2023. It found its way into my file cabinet without being shared. Just wanted to share the sentiment with you now. Perhaps we can encounter 2024 softly?
instead of finishing the year strong, why don’t we finish the year soft? why don’t we finish the year restful and grateful for making it through whatever crossed our paths?

Very wise thoughts, Sara, and a great alternative to frantically trying to get everything done in 2023 before we start our 2024. A very soothing poem. I needed that! Hugs, Bill

Amen, Sara. Lovely thought. A real keeper and winner. (Is there a contest around that this can win?!). Bravo! Happy Landings in 2024, Gershon

Your poem exemplifies notable skill, Dear Sara. It serves as a poignant and perceptive reminder to all to approach the transition into a fresh year with poise and dignity, embracing closures with compassion instead of self-imposed inflexibility.

thanks, Sotto. Your comments were kind and uplifting. I agree..poise and dignity are wonderful attributes as each of us faces the new year. You're right...flexibility is an important ingredient. Wise words...thank you. Your poetess friend in Texas, Sara

So true, and a beautiful reminder too to all, to take it slow and enter another year and welcome endings in a gentle manner instead of being hard or harsh on ones self: i believe i tend to get hard, as it is also my birthday around that time. Etc it does make me feel alot mixed emotions . I love the flow of this and wisdom you’ve portrayed in a seamless manner! Pleasure always reading your work! Sending you light always

thanks, Ink, for your visit and for your reflective comments. I understand, with your bday early in January, that you want to push. I used to do the same thing...my birthday is also in January. I was rough on myself until I realized that slowing down just a bit made the process much more enjoyable...if that makes sense. I ramble...wishing your a soulful and upbeat 2024. hugs, Sara
