I whisper a quiet prayer
Gentle thoughts of hope and faith
Inspirations for the one who knows
God is alive and He is up above
Yet He is inside, sharing His insights
Filling my soul with His wonder
His light and love, His second chance
To be someone worthwhile
Someone who knows God as guide
I murmur a tender prayer
Soft reflections of beauty and peace
Dreams awakened by the Father
Who shares His kindness, His compassion
The joy of a smile, a twinkle in an eye,
The feeling that this life is simply
A stepping stone on the way to much more
The assurance of a place where His
Love fills the entire abode with elation
I breathe a personal prayer
With promises that will not fade
Into the shadows of worry or pain
These treasured assurances remind
That His light will always stir the belief
Bringing out feelings of absolute relief
Reassurance that His grace, His way
Is the answer to every need, each plea
For a new day, a new way, bringing
Hearts into the relationship that assures
His love is stronger than we can imagine
His love is filled with the delight of heaven
I sigh an authentic prayer
Filled with the desire to spark a fire
Of joy that warms the heart and soul
With the promise of a love that is a sign
From above – a light in the darkness
Shelter from the storm and so much more
This love comes to life inside the one
Who knows that life only begins
When we’re forgiven of our sins
By the One who knows our spirits
And secures our souls with His redemption
I’m thankful for the One who created me
And gave me His spirit to inspire this faith
That will always be alive and filled with delight
Because I know the One whose spirit resides inside.
