In Your Loving Lap
Momma, I love to lie on your sweet lap,
Listening rapt to the stories you tell,
Sometimes, your words lull me to take a nap,
And I sleep deep, all my fears you dispel.
Your lap is the most comfortable place,
I can lie here forever, peace waves wash
As you stroke my head and caress my face,
I feel relaxed - your kind touch, evils squash.
Will you let me lie here when I grow up?
Spin me stories of fairies and magic?
In your loving lap, I feel cocooned, yup!
All's right with the world and nothing's tragic!
Large as your heart is, your lap's e’en larger,
You welcome me to rest my weary head,
A little lap love's my power charger,
I love you, momma, and your soft lap bed.
