In the Depth of Dusk

The solitary sun travels spent in your stale sky Burns the time of listless life passing by To see the destined night arrive late The hazy horizon in you waits In the depth of dusk. In the gloaming light the sky wears a mask of grey Shapes on you the shadow of the dying day To see crystal stars spread sparkling joy The passive pathos survives In the depth of dusk. The opaque mist spreads on the dark sky the pall of winter Melancholic present frozen in unpredictable future Tries to see the golden sun give a warm touch To the frosted dreams deeply sunk In the depth of dusk. Time takes you at its own pace ascertained from the eternity To the obscure destination shrouded by diffuse uncertainty To retain the last light a little longer Desire still valiant digs deeper In the depth of dusk. Day’s waning footprints dissolve in the flush of waiting sunset The morning birds return from the blue to their nest To see the memory glow forevermore in twilight Hope in you thrives out of sight In the depth of dusk. This is wonderful Subimal. I love the reprise at the end of each line. And your subtle use of rhyme here and there add to the overall experience I think. I enjoyed this poem. Congratulations!
