In Painted Hues
the forest is painted hues of green
with deep shaded places to hide
the birds are singing, twittering a song
the different tweets mingling
falling to a deep hush
and trees form a cathedral canopy
with the gnarled limbs twisting and entwining
and the vines creep with flowers bright
where dappled sun caresses each space
a stream ripples by
over sun bleached rocks it flows-
a silver fish jumps
