Imagine
Try to imagine a world without hope
where women are nothing more than chattel.
And oft kidnaped to be wives or traded
for a few dollars or a few cattle.
Imagine the humiliation of
getting yanked from their teacher's helpless arms.
And being brutally raped at knife-point;
driven far from their villages and farms.
Now, imagine that the Boko Haram
savagely molested your child that way.
And the rest of the world stood by and watched;
as these heartless monsters got clean away.
You'll never know the horror these girls feel;
it's difficult to believe; it's real.
