I Will Not Read

I will not read those things which bring me pain the words that chase the sun and bring the rain I will not read the words that steal delight That lead me down from day to darkest night I will not read the words that are not true That rob me of my faith and make me blue I will not read the words dressed in disguise that bring unbidden tears to soulful eyes I will not read the words that seem to be An altered state of my reality I will not read the words that bring me down that chase away my smile and bring a frown I'll read and taste and savor words of love And soar on wings of words to heights above Eileen Manassian Disclaimer: This is a repost from a while back. You can look for it on my current page. I feel the need to repost to remind myself of those feelings that were there when I first wrote it. It was true then, and it is true now. I want to thank everyone who posted lovely comments on Frank's blog. That was kind of him to post a blog and kind of all my friends to show their support. I will remain because poetry is very dear to me. Nothing can make me lose my love for that. Hugs....you all know who those are for. :)

Thank you for the visit, Constance. I find that it helps me to rise above things. When I have not followed my own advice...I have suffered for it. Thanks for visiting my work.

Soar on wings of words that lead you to touch the sky ..and yes stay away from sour words that makes you blue..That is what I try to do everyday..cuz life is short and we can never let it be spoilt.. I was on a short holiday in Scotland but glad to be back dear sis.

I can see from where this is coming from, Eileen. Love that last 2 lines. We decide for our own benefit. What will not benefit, we need not subject ourselves to. Let me add too that we also do things because we care. A powerfully emotive write. hugs!

Yes, I have decided.....I hope I can stick to my decision. There are people here whom I truly love. There are people here who have bitterly disappointed me. Some things I will never understand, but whatever doesn't kill me....makes me stronger....as the saying goes. Whenever I feel that someone's intentions aren't what they were meant to be....I am wary and cautious. My intuition is usually very strong, and I sense the truth behind a smile....thanks for the visit.

If one is influenced from above nothing that comes from bellow matters! Excellent writing and superb lesson, dear Eileen.

Eye can be such a sucker for these captcha things-- it says "eye" and it also makes me think of Eye-leen and so many things running in my mind that I can relate to seeing, eye, and your poem. Sorry I am rambling everywhere right now, but I just posted on Frank's blog and left something for you there. "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera comes to mind right now. There can be so much pain out there, dear Eileen, it makes us stronger, and I think love is the soothing balm for pain. Hugs your way!

Words when used as weapons of hate, enemity and meanness can be very painful. But your words which are weapons of love, strength and victory conquer all those negatives

Thanks, Njeri. unfortunately, I must admit to misusing words myself. I've also hurt people with my words....plenty of time. That's why the Bible says in James that he who can control his tongue is a perfect man. No one can do it all the time. I regret many such instances, but sometimes one must speak out or they will be taken advantage of. Hugs to you dear. I will visit soon.
