I Get So Mad

I get so mad when I go to the trouble of reading a poem then realize the poet wants no comment so I feel I’ve wasted my time I’ve been duped into reading yours and you’ve avoided mine I get so mad, it is bad to be tortured so as many go out of their way to read as well as write We are All poets on this site so just don’t post it keep it to yourself then… I get so mad, maybe I shouldn’t but it is annoying, to say the least I know this feature exists but resist it, don’t abuse it I get so mad I’ve been hoodwinked, buffaloed, tricked oh how I hate it…not you…but the abuse Some I read but they don’t comment, now if they choose not to comment on mine that is okay, still we should ALL be taking the time to read as well as write that is the right thing to do with some exceptions…the very old and the ill I don’t get mad at much. I’m not that mad just a bit annoyed Don’t toy with us…

yeah, I get it. it's totally pointless to turn off comments. I happen to know the reason one person does this. I imagine for others, they just don't want to be bothered by ever commenting to others. In that case, why even post their poems?? It's utterly senseless.

- Kim, it's been many years since I learned ... it's not about giving and receiving ... the first years here at PS I read and commented 25 poems in the morning ... and 25 poems in the evening ... Do you think I received 50 comments on my poems every day? .... No, far from it ... maybe 3-6 per day ... but I continued this for several years ... I loved these reading times ... some want comments and others don't ... it's just the way it is ... I love them - hugs

I’m the same way. I am not expecting. I just don’t like when I get to the end of a poem to find out they have commenting turned off. It is a pet peeve of mine.

Kim, I have studied how our minds work on commenting. Some have had bad experience with misunderstood comments, some do tit for tat, some appreciate your comment won't reply but will come by and leave a review. Your right though 500 views means nothing without a left comment, ps deletes after 50. I don't want to lose Rico, Connie's, or Milton's and Harry Horseman's comments may they rest in peace..it may be a blessing in disguise. Hope I never made you feel that. Hugs

No you haven’t. Of course I want more reads but I likewise try to read a lot, some from POTD, new poems, winning contests etc.. not always tit for tat as I don’t expect that either. I feel mad when I read a long poem only to find out that it cut off commenting. Feels like a waste of my time. You are a blessing, dear poet!!

As I don't have enough time to read as many poems as I want, usually I skip many poems. But if someone comments on my poems I see that their poems are read and evaluated through my comments. If one stops commenting repeatedly, I don't go to make comments on their poems. Kim, I can relate to your feelings. You are quite candid in the articulation of your thoughts.Enjoyed your poem dear friend

It is frustrating, isn't it?! And kind of hard to figure out, unless it's just a temporary pause (which I've seen). :) gw

There are some who don't want their work spoiled in case they get a negative comment on their perfect poetry, but are happy to let rip on our poetry lol others dont want comments if they may have health issues or simply dont have time to comment back. Each to their own, but I do feel your pain Kim. hugs jan xx

Some have reasons but still when you take the time to read and you go why… It takes a lot of effort.

Well, I hear you...and you know I am large on Comments as you are, thinking commenting an important part of the expanded poet process. So, to each his own. But I think they are missing out, those who do not comment.
