Sometimes I hope I could be you... For just a little while To see the world through your two eyes; To hear the truth appear through lies; To see you smile... I wish that I could cope. But you are you, And I am here, And stuck in me. And in my fever nights I see "The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep And miles to go before I sleep" (1) I close my eyes, But know I wake again, and then again. I wish no one to tell me lies But still they do, I hear them fake, But love them too. I just don't want to feel that pain.... Sometimes I wish I could be you. *** (1) Quote from the poem: "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" -Robert Frost *** May 11, 2017 Copyright © Darren White

This poem in particular Darren, I feel a layer of pain that has me wanting to reach out and just hug you. No words, if I could take some of your pain, even for a moment, I would in a nanosecond. You give every bit of of yourself through your beautiful poetry. I will never write like you, so all I know to do, is to hope you feel how valued, worthy, loved and respected you are. You and your poetry are beyond compare, a rarity, you bless us with all of you. Thank you with much love Darren lynnxxx

Darren Darren Darren. From the emotional side of me I say my goodness and I just want to give you and your work an everlasting embrace for you both deserve it. From the passionate and fire side of me I say "Are you Kidding Me". I have no words for such expression and execution. From the both sides of me I say this is an entry that must be read out lout with emphasis and meaning. You continue to amaze me. Excuse me. Your work continues to amaze me. Have a wonderful night Darren. - smile -

This is quite deep Darren and I know many can relate. It is always right to be the best we can be while being ourselves, but we all long at one time or another to be in the shoes of another, even if only for a moment. It can work the other way too, for them to be in our shoes and see as we see, feel as we feel. Lies can be the downfall of many great things in this life. Well done Darren :)

Darren, what a poem! You are the most multi-faceted, endearing, loving, fighting spirit out there. The woods may be deep, dark, and sometimes so enticing they get scary and you maybe afraid to get lost in them, but listen to the 'harness bell', even if it is annoying, it will always bring you back to us for your journey is a long and rich one my friend:) Amitiés

This reminds me too of the prayer of Agur two things I ask of you, O LORD; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches..." Proverbs 30:7-. Thanks, Darren, for reminding me of the truthfulness of our God.

It may seem others have things a little better but we never know what lies beneath their facade. Life is life, we all have our goods and bads. Wonderful writing, Darren.

I know many of us at one time or the other have wished to be someone else, but the truth is, there is no better person to be than yourself. Darren, I know the pain you experience and the doubts that float through your mind, but you are an inspiration and very important to many of us. It may not seem that way, but you touch others. Everyone of us who interact on this site or anywhere have a hand in adding to another's life. Keep smiling, keep fighting and together all of us will be better for it.

Thanks my friend. I know I should not write about that pain, but sometimes it's a little hard... I will always fight, you know me :) And you are important to me too. Now, did you find your sunglasses?
