I Am Flawed

Once, my actions were juvenile,
a naive boy with a cute smile.
A wingless bird, I couldn't fly,
but now, my wings soar in the sky.
I'd forgotten we're made of dust
and in whom I should place my trust.
I was groundless, living a lie,
but now, my wings soar in the sky.
A would-be king seeking a crown,
I let my pride drag me down.
And feeling all alone, I'd cry,
but now, my wings soar in the sky.
For the first time, I beseeched God,
"please forgive me, for I am flawed."
I could have ended with a sigh,
but now, my wings soar in the sky.
