I am like the black rock that wants to become a diamond..A thing that is not beautiful but can become beautiful and valuable.I was out on the porch writing and reading..After reading a work by Edna St. Vincent Millay, the thoughts about the diamond came to mind..Sara
The Japanese Magnolia's blooms color
Now a sickly amber after the freeze
Layered somber clouds boil threaten downpour
That will dampen out on the porch's ease
Just a few minutes to gather my thoughts
Settle down in the cold, biting, damp air
All the stresses, disappointment life brought
To the true, living God who reigns, rules fair
Fairness in diamond buried deep contained
In layers of earth waiting to surface
By hands of God releases unrestrained
Diamond in rough waiting place in palace
Speak to me, Lord, help the diamond's facets
Help me grow, Lord, fill me with your nuggets
In honor of Brian Strand
