My heart and soul broken and frayed, most of my life I have been afraid ! The forest became my sanctuary the birds and trees were my friends ... nature whispered my name Oh, in nature I always find my peace, I now accept the sorrow in my life; and nature is a wonderful release, but why has this life stabbed me with her knife ! I pick wildflowers in a meadow near a stream ... for graves below trees ______________________ March 19, 2022 Poetry/Crystalline/Kimo/Quatrain/Haiku/Girl Lost Copyright Protected, ID 03-14400-918-19 All Rights Reserved, 2022, Constance LaFrance Written for the Premier contest, A Combination of Forms sponsor, Emile Pinet, Judged 04/30/2022 Second Place

Your poem is very lovely and sad. As a little girl, I sought solace among trees also. Your Haiku definitely stands tall. Congratulations on your big win!

Congratulations Constance! Your poem came in "Second Place" in my contest, your poem was both sad and unique, earning you a podium position. Due to the number of entries and the quality of the poems submitted, this was a difficult contest to judge, but your poem, as always, stood out from the rest, well done my friend, Emile.

Interesting form for contest. Well written as always. I like the close very much. You took broken and travel to a place of compassion for others. A satisfying journey. I hope the little girl is happy now. A poet friend in Texas, Bill
