Remembering him is like a soft smile,
Wistful, wishful, silencing darkness
Erasing the sound of the color black,
Delicious, the essence always giving
Light, joy, wonder – soul soothing
Inspirations, grace that lifts shadows,
Shimmering in the stardust promises
Antiquity, kindness – the mystery of knowing
I’ve survived the heartbreak, the defeat
Death that taught me there is more grief
in the heartless hues of despair that comes
with the night falling like trouble,
through the promise of a forever, a longing
who never frees me from its echo,
resonating the silhouette of a life, a love
who gave into the addiction that took him –
even though he was young, like the first smile
sunshine glimpsing the moon’s goodbye
Remembering him is like a delicate kiss,
Coloring the heart in sensations of gentleness,
Peaceful and promising – smooth as the wind
Alive like the story of a life without end,
The uninvited guest – harsh like his death –
Tells me the moment has come to listen, to hear
The endless story of an alcoholic’s last craving,
The last will and testament, alcohol’s compulsion
Washing away all the hope and faith with tears
Dewdrops embracing the roses with her soul
Never fall prey to the liquid who beckons
To the hurting, the fallen, the lost,
Those who know music can be felt and touched
By a heart who listens to the smile, awaits
Courageously inviting the lightening,
- Shimmering, flashing –
Stirring songs, abundant melodies,
Listening to the pieces of a life, a loss
He was kindness, trembling with hope
He lost moments – time repented
Knowing that he was lost to the future
His soul bleeding worry and confusion,
Doubt that seemed like more an illusion
Than the silent moans, quietly lamenting
In shadows, fears – plentiful, lavish even
Panicky and dreading the time when death
Would obscure the sun, knowing
It had finally won
He was gentle, kind – a slice of light
But he is gone and we still linger on, living
Giving back to the world, despite
The yearning to look into his eyes, soft
Whispers who remember to shine with a smile
Meant to pierce the doubts that cloud a life,
Erasing destinies and questions,
Reflecting the peace that comes to those
Who love like he did, without any prerequisites
With a love that is alive forevermore
Love that sends hope to the darkest thought,
Praying for the wonders who travel, still
Through the melancholic world he left us with
I miss him – but guess it is the missing
That reminds me of his tenderness,
His ability to glimmer through the thoughts
Like the stars - sparkling in the dark
