Friendship

Is friendship so shallow that a word could dent its body twice deeply, so not even a blemish could then show and release imagining the dig far more than a surface gouge, but a mortal wound, deep as the shallow heart is above all true depth of loving mystery? I think not! For the friendly heart will never fester, what the mind will not entertain – not a word, not a phrase not a volume could true friendship maim!

I agree; for me, true friendship requires a degree of love. Close relationships can disappoint you...but to stop loving is to disappoint yourself. Never let the actions of someone else change who you are. Thank you, Paula

Sticks and stones.... Words can only attach if we, ourselves, feel some truth in them. Otherwise, they roll off the back. We need more ducks, and less sheep. Smart humanity may be too much to ask of our present day, dumbed down, selfcentered society.
