I don't have a dog, or well any animal at all. As a child dogs scared the mess out of me. As an adult I have a brave face around dogs 75% of the time. 15% of the time I am openly willing to love on dogs *much more often if I know the dog, and the rest of the time I'm still scared.

Sara and I do not have any pets, I like dogs better than cats, and birds and rabbits are my friends. :-) Thanks for the comments, Miranda. Sara just had shoulder and rotator cuff surgery, Friday. It when well but were up all night so I'm very busy taking care of my Sara. I'll be trying to read and write daily with the start of the new year, maybe sooner, I hope. Write On! my friend. Bill

A perfect picture and man and his best friend! Our dog died a few years ago.... but the memory of that little tail wagging resonates with your Haiku. :) Paulette

Amazing loyalty, understanding our animal "family," and I have seen videos where a cow comes running when a cowherd fakes he's being assaulted ( Google India, cow defending humans). USA & Europe love dogs, India protects cattle, monkey groups, tigers, elephants better. In South Africa, most dogs eat puto, maize me pap. Neglect?

I know, they are so much a part of our lives -- a labor of love. Then when we come back, the wife brings the leash...the dog laughing as I am hooked up. Excellent write, Bill.
