"There is a mercy in compassion, a beauty in
kindness, and a release in forgiveness. "
Quote by- Constance
this is a story
about a willingness to forgive a so-called friend
who stabbed me in my heart
and left my soul deeply wounded
I was so hurt and wanted to cut all ties with her
weeks passed and I struggled to hold onto my anger
it was like an anchor holding me down
I felt like a caged bird and my MUSE was hiding away
so, one day
I made a decision to forgive this lady
she had said "I am sorry"
and in showing compassion I helped myself too
I felt at peace, my wings fluttered and I felt light
yet, though I said "I forgive you" I knew she was flawed
and never to be totally trusted- but had a worth
and having that wisdom changed what I share with people
the friendship changed
not as close but still quite pleasant to talk with
there are things I no longer tell
forgiveness is the gift I gave to myself
I now realize that not all people share my life morals
and that is fine- but what I have to give them is kindness
I offer my friends grace, dignity and respect
loyalty, and trust ... even when it is not returned to me
I cannot change who I am . . .
