*Inspired by Photo There is a fire in the sky Behind swirling clouds passing by Igniting the ocean below The sun is spreading a golden glow The soft sand sifts between my toes On a smooth path, where the grass grows I can hear the ocean greet me I am lost momentarily Under fiery skies beside the sea, Thoughts are carried away from me Clear minded in the salty air I stop, I listen and I stare Amidst a cleansing on the beach So many things are out of reach Yet, I am settled in my soul As the waves continue to roll Heidi Sands 2/27/18

Hi Phyllis. Thank you. I would also like to be on the beach instead of the snow we have and more on the way ! Stay warm :)

Stirring, deeply felt imagery, Heidi...And thank you for introducing (me to) ekphrasis. (As an ESL teacher, I occasionally ask my students to 'free-write' about a picture. Now I can add poetry composition to the mix). Kudos, gw
