I found her in my garden among the Gardenia's
a solitary little sprite with wings
she was tiny and luminous
perched upon a flower petal
a mythical and magical creature
and I was enchanted
to have my very own garden sprite
the butterflies adored her
often, she took a ride on their backs
around and around they would drift
like they were on the waves of the ocean
she told me in a squeaky voice
that she came from the land of fairies
and was caught between earth and heaven above
she said that she loved my garden
and felt save among the flowers
I felt very honored about that
that very day I made her a fairy door into my home
so she could enter whenever she wanted
and I set up a dollhouse from my childhood
it had many rooms with furniture
and she was delighted
now, she could come and go at will
but, she truly loved the sunshine and flowers
oh, she was so beautiful and delightful
and would bring me flowers and jewels of bright colors
and often she played funny tricks
but, I still loved her
of course, when winter came she wept
so, I got her a sun lamp
and she whispered that she liked it
and I bought her some plants and flowers
then, one day she was gone
I was so sad
but I suppose she had left for the realm of fairies
which was her real home ...
