I fancy that I have a name as I tentatively note that my skin can still be warmed my heart soars - not forgotten by the rising sun gifted the chance to stare take each ray apart entrusted to piece my world back together given the time, space and tools to do it justice if a mind could just be furrowed walls installed within the skull one beautiful piece viewed at a time then reassembled protected from changeable weather how frightening it is otherwise - for the sun to be on its way up

Di11y, I like how you project the thoughts associated with the painting. The discussion you take on about walls and viewing one piece at a time gives me a lot to think about. I can imaging someone having too many thoughts that just won't stop and that can seem frightening. It's very nice to have a quiet and clear mind at times. Take care.

I've studied so many Van Gogh paintings now, alongside his letters that they automatically slide into a certain space that's very meditative. Always so interesting, like his calm space was in his paint. Thank you!

That's so sweet Linda, I tend to only see him on his good days and so far he's a sweet soul! Thank you for your kind words x

There is such linear perception in every part of this painting. It's almost too perfectly planned in color and reality. But what was reality to Van Gogh? It's enough that things happen in life to cause furrowed brows, so I'm not sure I'd want my brain to be patterned in that way. That may be a bit of a strange way of thinking but I'm looking through melancholy blue shades this morning after a weekend with my whole family. I need a little sunshine today. Great write, Dilly.

Haha Lin, and you came by my poems looking for sunshine?! I might have to dig deep and see what I can do :) I'd love a nice spring clean of all that's lurking in my head, box a few bits up and ship them out! Thanks for stopping by and giving this one some thought :)

Dear DD, Ah i love this art piece, you chose a dreamy one to write on and everytime you write inspired by Van Gogh, im in awe, you have so many brilliant lines in this, including the opening and also the way youv ended, both emanating such soul stirring emotions, i love the way youv especially written "my heart soars - not forgotten by the rising sun" so beautiful and moving! Can sense hope within and light, strength of one that feels the rays of sun amidst all! One of those poems that would make any reader pause and sigh in admiration! A fave for me! Pleasure reading you today! Sending you light always

Ahh I need to get to comment school - your comments are on another level! Haha :) this was an impromptu write as I happened to see the painting on Facebook and hadn't shared any poetry for a few days. Having read his letters (prompted by your own dedicated research for my previous contest) this sense of Van Gogh (on a good day!) flows easily from painting to page and was a pleasure to write. It was wonderful to see your comment and fave after my weekend off :) thanks again :)
