In the morning because I was mourning,
I went into the forest green;
Oh, lush the emerald caress,
That wrapped its arms around;
my soul.
And here, I rested and could hear the birds,
Singing me a sweet melody;
Chirping and twittering in unison,
I became lost in their song;
and tranquility.
The gentle wind blew, and the sky was blue,
Cotton clouds drifting so lazily by;
And I felt so peaceful and quiet,
Forest fairies came gliding;
and whispering.
