I am sorry, I cannot fail to not take this quite personal oh yes, I have been writing about my beloved cat these past days, it is true, oh so true since her tragic death (gosh, I loved that fur ball) and she was not dumb but quite smart like she knew what time I got home each day and would greet me at the door knew the time for food and the time for bed she would bring me her favorite toys to play she knew when I needed a purr would help me at the computer (sort off) liked to watch tv and go for a walk enjoyed meeting people on the way everyone loved this pretty cat liked to help me read a book or the newspaper (oh, what a mess) she was a really, really good cat not a dumb cat funny and clever and could even do tricks and now, she is a beloved dead cat sometimes she did not meow but tweeted like a bird and now my home is tomb silent I held her as she died as she breathed her last breath do you think that was easy was something to just shrug off so sorry, I will write of Snuggles cat whenever I want and well, the outpouring of sympathy and love as a result of my poetry is proof the PS poets love me and my cat .... 'cause since Snuggle's death they have all touched me deeply with their words on my blogs, poems and in soupmails , those words like a soothing balm those words caress my soul so, though YOU do not approve I will continue to write about my dead cat, and about all of nature too ... well, about anything that I feel like writing about

I noticed that she changed the wording of her description, it now just reads do not write about dead cats and the example poem no longer putting down every writer on soup has been replaced, Constance

Dear Constance, I am so sorry about all these developments. Deciding on what to write is a poet's discretion. No one can question it as long as it is not offensive and doesn't hurt any one's feelings. We should respect each other. I know how much you have suffered in life through the deaths of your dear and near ones. Snuggles has been a great companion to you in your loneliness. When a dear pet dies, it is so painful. I have experienced it myself. I had two pet dogs at different periods. Though initially I didn't like dogs, when we began experiencing its love, started loving it and when it died, I was so heartbroken and have posted three poems about my pet on this site. So I can feel your pain. May Snuggles absence be filled with another cute cat

Daniel, thank you for your continued support during this difficult time, some poets who called me friend who gave me condolences and sympathy are actually entering that hateful contest,where the woman puts me down, and that hurts me deeply, not sure what I am going to do about those fake people yet. take no notice of that daft person, constance, i saw that contest, it was mean and condescending, hopefully people will boycott it..your cat sounds just like the one i had, going for walks etc, there's always one special one that can never be replaced..i wanted to recommend two books - 'paw tracks in the moonlight' and the sequel 'paw tracks at owl cottage' by denis o'connor - true stories, i think you'd love them, i did, and found them a comfort

Sorry I missed your POTD on Snuggles Constance, our pets are part of our families, and always find a loving niche within our homes, seems this particular mention of (dumb dead cats) is personally directed at you whilst you still grieve! Constance, some people are just ignorant and I had no idea these type of poems or comments are being posted. I believe you can tell a lot about a person's character by their love or dislike of pets. Keep writing your beautiful poetry about your beloved Snuggles.

Ink, I am a person who writes to heal, and it does work, so yes, I will write about Snuggles and about anything I want. Imagine a poet who does not write about pets, flowers, trees, nature and lost love, how boring, hugs

I'm sorry to hear this Constance, anyone who had lost a pet will know how you feel. I felt like I was crying a whole lifetime of tears when my cat died. It compounds grief in many ways when it's a pet. Carry on writing about it, it's what poets do x

But, will continue to write about Snuggles there was no chance of recovering and she was suffering, it was so hard to watch the light go out of her eyes, she showed her love right to the end, oh how me and my sister kissed, held and caressed her before that final needle, so she would know how much we loved her, Constance

What you did you felt in your heart you had to do and this person doesn't realize it was the hardest decision you have ever had to make not wanting to make this decision but being force to because of Snuggles suffering. Know we love you and Snuggles and we are with you in your decision, cause I would have done the same thing as you did. I could not bear to see my Kitty suffer. Warm hug and love and support for you, and please consider forgiving this person so you may go on and have inner peace... Like Jesus said "They know not what they do."

she is not balanced. So many that are among us have serious mental issues I don't know if this is the case or maybe they chose to be cruel, if it is the latter case, then they should not be on this site and should be barred from having the privilege of sharing a forum with caring, positive people that care for one another. Heartless people do cruel things to others who've done nothing to deserve such treatment. Snuggles meant so much to you, Constance so you write about her as much as you feel the need to put into words what you're feeling. Beryl, I think it will hurt any pet lover, the words could have been dumb dead dog just as easily but the dagger was pointed at dumb dead cats and that really bothered me, that fire within me, that beautiful fire I have within was a blazing, raging fire. I have calmed down now. Constance
