you have mastered the art of brevity for certain. Congratulations on your ribbon. I had a mixed Shepherd and Chow for seventeen years and he was one of the smartest I've ever owned.

Howdy Maureen... I'm not sure what to say... I'm a dog at heart, but I don't boast fanatically about my assets. May I suggest listening to the band Cardiacs' album "Sing to God", in which is a song titled "Dog Like Sparky"... Am I missing something in this poem? As a dog; I'm stupid... But I'm always happy to see that you are posting!!! Goddess bless your muse... Thanks for this poem and hugs...

…and dogs aren’t stupid, some individuals maybe, some crazy smart ones out there too! I learned the difference between intelligence and trainability with my first one. Some say Chows are stupid, I disagree, they just weren’t bred to please humans.

Howly Jeff! As for this poem, I’m as interested in theology as I am in dog breeds, religion is a man made construct, just as dogs breeds have been created by man, each to serve a specific purpose, and each have their megafans, their mine is the one and only people. xomo!

My Encyclopedia of Dogs sits next to my Encyclopedia of Gods, I have one on birds too, if anything, I identify as a crazy bird lady. I am sure there are cat breed snobs too, this inspired by a guy who said pit bulls are the best dogs with total conviction… there’s a best for everyone! I love cat like dogs and dog like cats personally;), xomo!
