Divine Intervention

"Children are God's greatest gift. In their smiles, mothers dry their tears" by Poet Waited in vain through long barren years To see a toddler taking unsteady steps Calling me mom, his toothless gum pressed to my breast Years slouched away without any happy tiding Went from doc to doc, looking for a remedy They in unison said little was the chance Knew prayer was the sole resort And waited for a miracle to happen After years of prayerful waiting At last, sensed the feeble signs of life within A dream come true, a long wish fulfilled The dainty Darling of our life, so very near! Like an eagle in its aerial route, Flew my spirits in ecstatic rounds Like the Swallow, soaring high above, My fancy took wings and set to fly. With promises full and hopes in store, To fill the void within our souls To burst the silence with the clatter of sounds To dispel the gloom that hovered on He came, High from Heaven like a cherubim sent, With the glow of umpteen candles lit, To gladden our doleful hearts, To deliver us of our blighted state He came, Like the first rain on parched ground, To drench the arid lands in profuse shower, To ease the prick of sweltering heat, To put out the fire of growing drought He lay close to me, the bundle of joy! His dark little eyes poised on my face, Full with words on silent lips, And innocence on his glistening visage I peered into that cute little face, The face I had long fondled in my dreams, I whirled in the feel of prime feed, And swam in the glory of maternal bliss! (It was after long 12 years of waiting and after rigorous treatment for acute endometriosis, that our first son was born to us at a time when we had given up all hopes. Our joy knew no bounds. We firmly believe it is through divine intervention) 26. The wisdom of God is beyond our perception of life twists and complexities.. what we think of harm and suffering to us, with time, it turns out to be of a huge blessing! The hands of God weave webs of happenings in time and place that restore Faith in human hearts that are able to see and feel the divine intervention.. Your divine gift, dear Valsa enabled me to feel your suffering and joy.. to hear your prayers.. to see your precious apple of your eyes.. You have wonderfully rendered a reality to the magic of poetry! No wonder! A soul filled with deep pain her pen knows how to reach and touch hearts! A gem worthy of being honoured and a treat to read! Stay happy and blessed. My deepest regards and blessings. Love and hugs.

I run short of words when it comes to responding to your comments, Besma ! I do not find anyone who analyses a poem in such a manner and gives a feed back that cools our mind like smoky jets of water on a sunny day. The wisdom and love of God surpasses human understanding. I feel blessed and am sure He has been leading me through tribulations to a final moment of rejoicing. Thanks a lot sweet friend for these wonderful words.... I cannot reply to your comment in a language matching yours.... so just a word of heartfelt thanks....

Divine Intervention left Joseph out in the cold requiring the Magi to straighten him out, so you are ahead of the game! Enjoy your lead, especially at Christmas! Aloha!

The poetic aspect of all that you suffered through to the happiness of your children, is so well documented here, love the poetry and the story, and of course, the Divine intervention.

Not one but two sons. The eldest is 31 and is married . The younger one is 28. It was for my treatment that we went to the US for the first time. Had laser surgery and came back ! Even after it, we had to wait for two more years ! Thanks a lot Victor for your beautiful comment !
