DID CUPID PLAN THIS

Bulging eyes like a pompous toad
watched for me to blush and explode
when we met and you called me cold.
I thumped your cigar.
You flicked ash into my dress fold
then showed the nerve of one too bold
by kissing me in your wrapped hold
and yet here we are.

Dear CayCay, This was a blast to read. I laughed at the toad eyes and the cigar, very mischievous. Ending with “and yet here we are” made it feel real and a little smug, like love showed up uninvited and stayed anyway. Winter Blessings, CayCay Daniel

You totally got it, Daniel, all of it. My muse couldn't wrap the pen around a harmonious tale ending with YET. No matter what happens with the contest I had a good time creating this and learning tail rhyme or rhyme tail or rail thyme. Blessings to you, showers of them and gratitude for your comments. CayCay

Love "I flicked you with my small cigar." I think the tails are 5 syllables, CayCay. ;)

I count five, you mean last line, right? Can you hear me? I'll check it out. CayCay
