~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The bare branches reach their limbs across the winter sky, clouds passing as ships above. The branches appear is if brought into my view by oils upon canvas, by an artist who knows there is beauty in the frozen, barren forest. The branches reach this way and that, neither straight nor curved. I think of them as arms rather than branches, dancing until twilight.
Hey Sara... Your concise and evocative haiku encapsulates the essence of the larger poem's imagery while distilling it into a single moment. The imagery of "completely naked tree branches gaily dancing" paints a vivid picture of winter's stark beauty and the resilience of nature.
That's a cute halibun. Branches are interesting. Those in the photo look brittle. Maybe they are cold.
thanks, Hilda, for your comments. Yes, they look cold and like they'd break...that's the way I feel in the wintertime. :-) enjoy your day, Sara
I will do a little jig, thinking about spring, but I will leave my leaves on.
