Come Quickly Home
My darling, please come quickly home to me.
I feel such longing when you are away.
I miss how you embrace me tenderly.
How sweet your kisses and the things you say!
I’ve gone outside to see the moon’s first light,
recalling our first kiss beneath its glow
and how you gazed into my eyes that night.
First star I see – my dear, I think you know
the wish I’m making. Ease my worrying.
Return the call I just made you, my dear,
and tell me homeward that you’re hurrying,
for I can barely wait to have you here.
Once home, you can go back in the slow lane
with lights down low, soft music and champagne!
