Cold Hot Cold and Red

I have no desire to make my way to Mars. Even though I've been told men are from there. I would much prefer to stay home and view the stars. On the red planet do men sit in lonely Bars? A place devoid of women with whom would I share? I have no desire to make my way to Mars I much prefer green space without so many cars. The world is so busy and filled with so much despair. I would much prefer to stay home and view the stars. Perhaps we are all like experiments in jars. Unlike you for this small red planet I don't care! I have no desire to make my way to Mars! If I go to the red planet I'll see it's scars. Maybe I'll even discover how they got there. I would much prefer to stay home and view the stars You tell me one day that we may be killed by SARS. The answer to all our woes you think is out there. I have no desire to make my way to Mars. I would much prefer to stay home and view the stars! This was a tough form to write a Mars poem, I hope I did it justice. For Joe Maverick's Mars contest.

I want to keep my feet firmly planted on this planet, unless of course there is a berth on the SS Enterprise in which case I will choose the Enterprise.

So glad you enjoyed yourself. I have already swam 4 times in Lake Okanagan. First three times were freezing but still loved it.

More than poetic justice, I agree with you. I have no inkling to visit Mars when years and time are so limited and precious. Like you I'm still curious and applaud the ones that do! :) This is my first reading of this form, you've made it intriguing. Thank you soo much from your support straight from my first submission. You are much appreciated, jill

Hello Richard!! Great Job here. I have a soft spot for the Villanelle poems. (I'm in the process of writing another one soon.) This was a tough subject as it appears, but looks like you got everything perfect. Good Luck in the contest!! A "7" + FAV. Best Wishes, Gary

Wow, thanks Gary. I myself prefer the Terzanelle. I wanted to challenge myself so I gave this a go.
