Captive of Passion
his voice was a deep baritone whispering my name
and his eyes were fathomless dark pools
I pulled him closer and he stroked my flowing hair
but his eyes were cold ice . . . and I trembled
is this love or hate, oh I was so confused
he wanted to control me and crushed my ruby lips
with a kiss demanding that turned beautiful
he said vile things while holding me captive
in his arms . . . and then whispered my name
go away, come back, is this love I was thinking
he wrapped around me and we were spinning
swirling and lost in passion . . .
I opened my eyes
and his smile was cruel and he laughed a mean laugh
yet, I knew I was nothing without his kiss
he might as well have me in chains . . .
I knew that I MUST get away because this was wrong
the door slammed shut and after a moment
I turned the knob . . . and ran into the night
and never looked back . . .
