Captivated
Could there have been another time
I held you in my arms,
Succumbing to your loveliness
And captured by your charms?
It seems there could not be a world
In which there was no you.
You're the freshness of the morning,
The sweetness of the dew.
It took but one brief glimpse to know
You were the one I sought.
Days lived before my love for you
Are counted now as naught.
Though circustance may change us both
I promise you today
The all consuming love I feel
Shall never go away.
Without a thought of self I am
Amazingly beguiled
And evermore enamored by
My precious newborn child.
Won 2nd place
