Tender petals' velvet robes Scent's intoxicating lure Vibrant hues which please the eye And evoke romantic mood Soft to touch, the ending bloom Sharp is the ironic thorn Which protects the flow inside That feeds the beauty of the Rose Inspired by Brian Strand's BLOOM contest

this one makes me smile, Donna. Put this poem and a rose side by side and it would be hard for me to distinguish one from the other.. Lovely- Robert

I got chills when I read this lovely verse, Donna! Could not help thinking of Bette Midler's beautiful song "The Rose." Sure, they have thorns, but so do many things of beauty. And I love the title, straight from "Romeo and Juliet." Brilliant writing, Donna! Love, Carolyn
