Bunny

He’s a sad Bunny
With floppy ears
Sadly button eyes
they can’t shed tears

Bottom of the pile
New toys on top
He needed Beth’s help
To hippity hop

With imagination
she brought Bunny joy
He was her best friend
More than just a toy

Many years now passed
Beth searches for Bunny
A gift for her baby
who names Bunny Honey

Bunny’s happy again
That fuzzy lovely feel
Hippity hop heaven
Love makes Bunny real

Bunny’s round tail
has long been gone
But Bunny still sings
lovely bunny songs

She cuddles him close
Pets worn floppy ears
Bright Bunny button eyes
with no need of tears.

What a cuddly poem, I wish to hold Honey Bunny too. When my daughter was 4 she had a lion stuffed animal. Her father sewed a new mouth on it when she was 6 as it had unravelled during the night. Now at 23 she sleeps next to her lion after a hard day at work. He is floppy & well love too Your third stanza says it all !!! She would love your poem, and of course so would her dad.

So cute! Reminds me of my sister’s chicken. “What’s its name?” We asked. “She said Probably Chicken.” So that is what we called it…lol.

An absolutely gorgeous story to herald in the new year. A story that could be passed through the generations. My daughter's then granddaughter's was a hephelant. Its trunk was worn and as Bunny, its tail was missing but none the less loved. Your beautiful rhyming poem brought back memories. You are a talented poet. Thank you.

This is a cute poem about bunny, i love the lyrical flow of this and how you’ve done storytelling. I think many in childhood did find an imaginary bestfriend in those cuddlesome toys. Its nice to pass them to children too. A joy shared. Pleasure reading your work again. Wishing you a wonderful 2024 ahead

Ahh!! What a wonderful story. My grandsons brought back to life a toy Ford tractor and equipment from our son's toys left here with us. Long ago it was put in the attic. Thanks for sharing this story in poetic form with us. Sara K
