Congratulations Paul, short but vividly expressed! Greeks love their garlic and not only for cooking with. Have you ever been shown or told of the evil eye, it is a small blue bead with an eye and hanging with it is a whole clove of garlic, not real of course, plastic, and this is meant to ward off bad spirits! Warm regards, Jennifer.

Thank you for liking, Jennifer...and I enjoyed your informative comments, too. The Maltese fishermen paint a similar eye at the front of their boats; I think it's to ward off bad luck. ~ Warm regards // paul

Hi Paul, well it looks as if I shall be heading to the kitchen for an early morning snack. Self-control, what self-control. Tristich, I have never heard of that form Paul. It has served you well in this write. Like WW I also love garlic. Garlic bread tomorrow with Pizza I think. Good luck in the contest Paul. Have a wonderful Thursday. Your friend always....Mike.

Hi Mike...sorry for leading you into temptation:) A Tristich is a 3-line poem (which is neither a haiku nor a senryu). I usually use it to be on the safe side. Best regards to you, my friend. // paul

In Malta & most anywhere civilization has deep footprints in time, our mothers' handprints on dough yield the best bread. In India it is chapati & parata, exported mostly as puri & roti. No coincidence, Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life." COMMUNION w. U Brother Paul. shalom, shalom

You are right, Anil; bread is one of the oldest man-made foods. It is a pity that nowadays producers of bread are adding too many additives to it! Your bible quote is very fitting. Regards // paul
