Book Store
I’m in Barnes and Noble
One day after New Year
It’s crowded
Most people shopping a book store for the first time…
People who seldom read anything but magazines
Unless they’re students
Students of course are forced to read
Well it’s the sale!
50% off a number of items nobody wants anyway
But then there’s something grand about being surrounded by the greats –
Twain Shaw Hardy Hemmingway
I come in B&N often
Have coffee and a cookie
Write poetry watch the infinite variety of faces
If you study faces and figures closely
It’s easy to fall in love
Easy to fall in love with strangers
Strangers are like your pets
Completely innocent
God forbid you should happen to strike up a conversation
If this should happen faces change
Like triggering the remote on your T.V. set
All becomes normal
SNAFU!
