blackberries relished, picked, coated with sugar, fingers deliciously stained. the tonic bumps twirl with my tongue the sweetness and berry bravado of childhood, picking and tasting this satiating serendipity for one. i wonder if my sisters and brother found the wild bramble? or is it all mine - this mine of sweet black fruit. 8/4/2022

My how nice, Kim. Your thoughts on blackberries are similar in that they take us back to younger days when we got out of the grocery and took to the fields. Lovely pic too you have. Great write readable and nostalgic. Super word play on mine.

I agree with Matt re the berry bravado line and i also liked the ‘mine’ word play at the end … they really go well with the preceding thought of childhood discovery which took me back to my fruit picking youngster days… congratulations:)

Maine produces some of the sweetest and biggest (thumb-size) blackberries I ever came across. The only problem, black bears love them as much as humans! Best way to pick them is VERY fast! / Enjoyed your poem. / Maurice
