skipping through the woods
in the spring of her life.
See her skipping into her future,
oblivious to the life that is to be.
Decades later she will look back
at this carefree time
in the spring of her life,
and she will recall the beauty
of the woods in springtime’s warmth,
knowing that today
the rare spring so long ago is utterly
beyond
reach.
