~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ should i take a dose of azoth to cure my sloth? it may well make my mind like quicksilver sending me messages from the mouths of gods at round about 80wpm or will it just make my moods mercurial and put little beads of silver sweat across my furrowed brow with its inherent toxicity. if i take a dose of azoth or liquid cinnabar. i may live fast, but i won't live long... my old friend Paracelsus tells me "the dose makes the poison" and in this he is right. i might skip the azoth..... and the cinnibar liquid too go for coffee instead.... or could just succumb to sloth and stay in bed.
thank you, Vijay...just to clear things up, I never have any desire to be a sloth. The only time I stay in bed is when I'm sick and even them would prefer not to :-) have a great evening, Sara
The last part of the poem has made me smile. But I know you are not a person who will waste your precious life by lying in bed. You will either write poetry or go for a walk if there is nothing serious to be done. The word Azoth is new to me. Is it something like panacea... an all-time remedy? Can it turn poisonous if not administered carefully? However, I greatly enjoyed your poem, dear friend.
Glad my poem brought you a smile, Valsa. You're right. I'm not now or never have been a sloth...too much life to live. Azoth is a universal remedy...named after the philosopher Azoth....you could research him to find the mystical connection. I appreciate your visit and interest. Have a splendid evening, Sara
Staying in bed will get you nowhere. Great idea for the poem. Loved the mercurial allusions to writing a poem. Well done.
I agree with you, Victor. Staying in bed accomplishes nothing. The only time I stay in bed is when I'm sick...don't like doing so even then :-) Thanks for your visit & complimentary words, Sara
