When we were children, we played games Often scary... Running, and hiding, I remember, From some dark image That would Capture us Lock us in a dark, castle room Forever. But, we could always escape... Then Now... we collide with each other running to find Agreement, Compassion, Fresh Air, Care Songs with a different ending Love But, the key to unlocking us Got Lost Tumbling through purple words Disinformation Anger Despair And, we are no longer Children. ,

Yes, we see this stark change in our attitude and temperament as we leave our childhood behind and grow older. We lose our innocence and the place of love, hatred comes into predominance. This change plunges us into anger and despair. Well done. All the Best, dear Ann.

Thanks, dear Valsa! Our trust has become so fragile, and that is very sad. I remember when everyone seemed to trust everything and now that's gone. Childhood was a kinder place. I appreciate your wise comments.

Ann, such a striking contrast in your poem between the innocence of childhood games and our reality of the world in which we live where we seem to "collide" on so many levels! I think your wonderful poem reminds us to hold onto whatever remnants of childhood we can recover - live in their joy! Best wishes for the contest! Blessings to you!

Dear Sam, Thank you so much for your kind comments. I try not to watch news too much. At first, I was astonished that we could be so crude and cruel. Now, I'm frightened for us and our country, and still shocked. Stay safe!

Dear Ann, Your poem beautifully explores the profound juxtaposition between the purity and ease of childhood in contrast with the intricate and arduous realities of adulthood. It delves into the poignant themes of lost innocence and the myriad challenges that accompany the process of maturing. BOL with the contest
