An Ode To Silence
Thou exquisite bride of melancholy
I welcome thee with open arms
Thou paths are serene and holy
Thy lover will forever be under thy charms
Life in mad pursuit do men follow
Thou patiently wait under the lonely tree
Sure of their silent return
In thy arms sweeter melodies are heard
Singing the meditations of the soul
Fair youth and old age overwrought
Lie in thy shadows sweet
Knowing that life is sold and bought
But silence remains still
Salutation and failure become beauty
When mind rejoices silent eternity
Every heart in every sphere
Wishes for thy peaceful entry
