Did you know that Monarch butterflies will not attempt to fly in the rain because the raindrops will damage their delicate wings? They rest and patiently wait. It’s self-preservation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ it’s okay to rest during the storms in your life take all of the time you need~you will fly again after the storm passes by
Lovely Tanka poem, Sara. Another one I would save if Poetry Soup would allow it. Smiles ~ Blessing, to my truelove on Valentines Day! Bill
thanks, Paige. I need to heed my own advice...I'm negligent ofttimes when it comes to getting rest.
I’m pretty much the eternal optimist (usually with good cause) so youre definitely speaking my language there, Sara. A positively positive write. Terry
I guess when your wearing a “fancy outfit” it’s best not to go out in the rain.
I did know that. My daughter collects Monarch caterpillars and cages them with an ample supply of milkweed to fill them until they form a chrysalis. It’s wonderful to watch them create one and more pleasurable to watch them emerge. Once their wings are dried… the release is the best part. The percentage of those who make it to that point is extremely low. Cleaning up the amount of poop? Not so amazing.
Thanks for sharing your Monarch butterfly story. My dad raised Monarch butterflies. I watched them with him and accompanied him when he released them...I thought I was witnessing a miracle. We called my dad "The Butterfly Whisperer." I wrote a memoir about him and his 'whispering.' I agree...the 'poop' was unpleasant. Wishing you a pleasant evening, Sara
