my being ...
lies discarded at your feet
the residue of goodbye still drying on your lips
dripping like lazy concern ...
forsaken memories bloom like weeds about us
aching for the care of kindness
wilting in your poison pride
impassioned moments of exquisite beauty and bond
discarded with your ring and fidelity
fodder for a pyre of the jilted and vacant.
Cast me to the cold wind, love
kick me to the curb like a charlatan, shunned
it is safe there, after all
the dark recesses waiting, long
for the perfect tears to wash me away ...
prince of the forgotten
champion of all that's not
romance's royal refuse ...
bound for oblivion and ignorant bliss
relinquished.
