Abandon
Anguish of the mind can happen to a child
Because of the departure of
A mother or a father from the home.
Now for me, it wasn’t for the lack of a father’s love.
Dad had a horrible mental illness, so Mom was forced to leave,
Only because with a family he could not cope.
Never did he leave us, but my mother simply had to abandon hope.
