A Letter To My Father
My God, Hearer of my Prayers,
The world lies in the hands of darkness and evil, but the depth of my faith has me trusting that only You, Father, can heal all of the ills that plague mankind. It is to You, my merciful and loving God, that I pray, hoping you will answer my prayer with your awe-inspiring righteousness.
God, in this time of year, people fall on their knees to honor your Son's birth, but my plea is that somehow they will come to understand that He was born so that His sacrifice for our sins would give us hope for everlasting life. Father, it is His death that we should celebrate even more solemnly. Instead of always thinking of Him as a babe in a manger, we should extol Jesus for giving His life for the sins of man. I hope the joy people find in the month of December would be observed every day of the year in gracious tribute to You and Your beloved son. Such commemoration would give cause for Angel's voices to be heard in harmonious song.
Father, You ask me to lay my burdens upon You, but I am placing not only my own, but those of many innocent victims of a deadly virus into Your hands. I am thankful for Your compassion in remembering those who have died, those who are suffering, and those who will suffer this pestilence.
Please, dear God, I implore Your forgiveness of my faults, and beg that You also forgive mankind's imperfections. I offer this prayer in supplication as Your loyal servant, and it is in the name of Your loving Son, Jesus Christ, that I humbly laud You for the many undeserved kindnesses You have accorded me.
Amen.
