Afraid of the Dark-Monotetra

My little mind was full of dread There were monsters in the shed Perhaps they're in the house instead Under the bed! Under the bed! Afraid of things I cannot see What will those creatures do to me My brother watching with pure glee They're after me! They're after me! Brother laughing with all his might Said they only come out at night Sent to bed soon after the fight Leave on the light! Leave on the light! Mother took pity the next day She sent my brother on his way No more bad monsters in our play And she-- Let the light stay! Let the light stay!

Very well, written, Barbara. Although I shy away from restrictive poetry formats, you have used the form perfectly. David
