Boat over the water crossed unused days with expectations You were in sunshine and rain with wet heavy paddles you bent the wind and rode the waves Changes over time: the life course an insensitive cold wind singing toward land seek shelter from autumn's storm When anchoring - a little straw is not enough 01.10.2022 Sun :) - A-L Andresen :) Copyright © All Rights Reserved 5th place in the contest sponsored by: Brian Strand

This is so nice. Loved that part "bent the wind" I used this same picture years ago for a sonnet I wrote

Sunshine Smile you are such a great poet the themes you choose to write on have character and are timeless. I love this little boat which has such a history about it. Well penned lovely friend and sister you have always been special and a loyal friend. Than you for your warm comment on my last poem. Hugs and blessings Jennifer

"you bent the wind and rode the waves"..... You have beautifully brought out the changes that come over life with time through the metaphoric image of a boat. Once it victoriously rode over waves, but in time, its powers have declined.Congratulations Smile on your win in Brian's contest.

This does show how changes over time can wear on us. All the more reason to try to make the most of what we can , while we can and it isn't always easy to do, but time is so valuable. I hope you have a nice day :)

As we grow old, we resemble the old boat. We fail to function properly. Beautiful imagery. Hugs

The aging boat is inert since it can no more surf waves or endure strong gusts. Life can be compared to this, Anne-Lise. Exceptional writing!

I could see how life is a lot like the little boat, Sunshine. I enjoyed the read today. Thanks for sharing, my friend. Bill

A metaphor for life, Anne-Lise. The old boat sits idle--no longer able to bend winds or ride waves. Time changes things. A splendid write!
