heron happiness

is the grey heron happier than me,
When he hovers over the small lake,
I have no trouble imagining it, dear neighbor,
And the raven more wicked than black, say

Is he happier than you, great poet?
I have no trouble imagining it, dear neighbor,
And the duck accompanied by sweet oranges,
His destiny ends in apotheosis, to put it better,

Is the cat striped with yellow happier?
When he walks like a Siberian tiger,
I have no trouble imagining it, dear neighbor,,
The animals look at the measure of everything,
They are much happier than you, Poet.

That cat purrs, the raven caws with pride, the duck lines up with his family, id say thats happily ever after, dear poet. Sagacious! Enjoyed.

Interesting to ponder. But do animals really even know what happiness is? Their lives look hard outside. Pets inside just lay around doing nothing. Ha!

thanks andrea for the nice comment, i observe birds very often, they are very clever, i think, knowing where to go when flying, demands a brain, for sure, happy are they ? they have no conscience may be, but they know the "bien être" i think so i am ? smiles enjoy your sunday

Well, I don't know if they are happier or are they constantly in the struggle of survival except for the domesticated animals that live in the house with us which possibly could be happier than us. Thanks for sharing the thoughts though. I have never thought of animals being happy or unhappy except for the dogs that I have had as pets. Sara K

thanks Sara, this is a thoughtful comment, thinking about i know animals can suffer too in the wild, elephants massacre, eaten zebras by lions, this is for sure nature is not innocent, good point

I feel what you think is right.... Yaan. The animals and birds are happier than human beings. They have lesser worries. All their botheration is to appease their hunger. Men have too many botherations. Well expressed, dear friend.

Animals seem to accept their destiny better than human, Yann. For some reason, we humans think we are in control most of time but seldom are in control.
