heron happiness

is the grey heron happier than me,
When he hovers over the small lake,
I have no trouble imagining it, dear neighbor,
And the raven more wicked than black, say

Is he happier than you, great poet?
I have no trouble imagining it, dear neighbor,
And the duck accompanied by sweet oranges,
His destiny ends in apotheosis, to put it better,

Is the cat striped with yellow happier?
When he walks like a Siberian tiger,
I have no trouble imagining it, dear neighbor,,
The animals look at the measure of everything,
They are much happier than you, Poet.

Well, I don't know if they are happier or are they constantly in the struggle of survival except for the domesticated animals that live in the house with us which possibly could be happier than us. Thanks for sharing the thoughts though. I have never thought of animals being happy or unhappy except for the dogs that I have had as pets. Sara K

I sense the thoughts you hold as true.... Yaan. The creatures of the field and sky find joy in simpler ways than ourselves, the burdened souls of man. They bear fewer burdens.

I feel what you think is right.... Yaan. The animals and birds are happier than human beings. They have lesser worries. All their botheration is to appease their hunger. Men have too many botherations. Well expressed, dear friend.

You ask pertinent questions on life and its happiness. We all wish for happiness but rarely find it. It eludes us. Perhaps we search in the wrong places. Loved your poem.

Dear Yann, your poem is a delightful exploration of happiness through the eyes of various creatures. The imagery is vivid, and the tone is playful and thought-provoking. You weave together nature and introspection beautifully. Brilliantly written!

thought provoking poem, Yann. I agree with hubby, Bill, animals are quite adaptive and happy...yet we humans suffer from a certain angst whenever we're not in control...a shame. Loved the depth of your poem...have a great evening, Sara

Animals seem to accept their destiny better than human, Yann. For some reason, we humans think we are in control most of time but seldom are in control. Your poem gives us each something to think about, my friend. Thanks for sharing your poetry with us. A poet friend in Texas, to my French poet friend.
